What I’ve Been Loving: May Favorites

Paramore After LaughterPrimer Water

I know that every favorites post probably starts up this way but I really can’t believe that it’s already May! The month of May was an especially big milestone because I completed my first year of teaching. If you didn’t know, I graduated college with a degree in elementary education and just wrapped up teaching third grade! Being a new teacher in a classroom certainly had its challenges but I learned so much! That being said, I’m really looking forward to spending the next two months relaxing. Without further ado, let’s get into what I’ve been loving in May!

This month has been a good one in terms of new beauty discoveries and old ones. The first one that I’ve really been loving is the Smashbox Primer Water. I’ve seen this in store several times and honestly found it to be a bit gimmicky. I decided to give this a shot after my face started getting a little oily due to the Phoenix summer. Verdict? It’s amazing! I spray this on before any makeup and I feel like it gives a good base for my foundation and concealer to sit on. I get less oily throughout the day, which is exactly what I wanted in a primer.

Next up is the YSL Touche Elact Radiance Pen. I received this complimentary through Influenster and truthfully, I’ve been really enjoying it. I find that this pen doesn’t do the best at concealing but I love using it in between my brows and down the bridge of my nose for a bit of extra radiance. I love the idea of being super glowy but I want to save the super glow for my cheekbones.

Finally, the Benefit Goof Proof eyebrow pencil is an oldie but goodie that I’ve rediscovered. Usually I use a brow pomade on my brows but if I want something easy, I’ll reach for Goof Proof. I find that I like this product a lot more when my brows are freshly threaded and I just need to fill them in. I love that it has a spoolie on the end of it, which really helps pull product through the brow, giving a more natural appearance, which I like.

If you’ve been following my Instagram at all, this probably won’t be news to you. I found these slides at Forever 21 in a nude color about a month ago and loved them so much that I bought them in this red-orange too! They’re so comfortable which is saying a lot because I’m really picky with how my shoes fit. On top of it all, they go with everything! Best part? They cost $15. Super affordable!

I had to include two albums this time around because two of my favorites released an album on the same day. Harry Styles’ self-titled album and After Laughter by Paramore have been on heavy rotation the last couple of weeks. My favorite tracks from Harry are definitely Two Ghosts and Woman while Rose-Colored Boy and Fake Happy have been my picks from Paramore’s new album.
