Can we talk about how April is over and May is here? I feel like I rang in the new year just last month but here we are, nearly halfway through. April has been one heck of a month and I haven’t been contributing to the blog as much as I’d like to, but I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it’ll get back on track very soon! For now, I’m bringing you a few things that I’ve been loving throughout the month of April. Let’s get into my April favorites!

Beauty

In terms of beauty products, I haven’t been trying out a ton of new things but there are definitely a couple of products that really stand out to me. The Tarte Shape Tape concealer is definitely making its way as a newfound cult favorite among the beauty community and I can understand why! I have pretty gnarly dark circles and for a long time, I used my trusty NARS Radiant Creamy concealer to help hide them. That is, until I discovered Tarte Shape Tape. This stuff is amazing for covering up everything I want from my undereye circles to blemishes to redness – it does it all!

I’ve definitely been on a Tarte kick recently, as I’ve rediscovered my love for the Tarte Amazonian Clay blushes. I had been using an It Cosmetics blush during the winter, but as spring approached I was craving something that gave a bit more of a natural flush. As I was cleaning out my makeup stash, I came across the Tarte blush in Captivating, the perfect peachy-pink color for that subtle hint of color. I’ve been loving a bit of a more natural makeup look, so this color is perfect.

If you read my Every Day Make Up Routine post, you’ll know that I had eyelash extensions for a couple of months, which really cut down my makeup time. Since then, I’ve let my lashes grow out naturally and the extensions fall out which left my natural lashes looking less than great. I’ve been loving the Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara for a bit of volume and to really darken up my lashes so that I still don’t have to do very much in terms of eye makeup, but my lashes still look great.

Fashion and Music

Moving away from beauty products and into fashion, here’s a throwback for you: checkered Vans. Yes, it happened. I don’t know what it was, but I had the sudden desire to channel middle school and go out to buy a new pair of checkered slip-ons. No regrets. To add a cool, laid-back element to my outfits, I love wearing these shoes. Last but not certainly not least, a couple of bands I’ve been obsessed with are Saint Motel and LANY. I saw Saint Motel open up for my faves Panic! at the Disco back in March, and I’ve been hooked ever since. LANY happened to pop up on a daily mix on Spotify and I’ve been loving them recently. They’re perfect for lounging around or getting ready in the morning! My songs of choice at the moment are Move by Saint Motel and Pink Skies by LANY.

That wraps up my April favorites post! What are some things you’ve been loving this month? Comment below to let me know!

xx Mary

  6. I am desperate to get my hands on the shape tape but it’s so hard to get hold of here in the UK As it’s only really on QVC x
